PacksBack is a nonprofit that collects new and gently used backpacks and donates them to students' schools who need them. We are partnering with local Charlotte, NC elementary schools. Personally, I have always loved getting a new backpack at the beginning of the school year; it is part of the excitement of going back to school. I have created PacksBack to help spread that joy and excitement of getting a new backpack at the beginning of the school year with those who may not ordinarily be able to. With your donation, we can spread that joy together. - Alex
Events
All of our events have been completed for 2022 & 2023
2022: We held three very successful donation events this summer and reached our year one goal of 100 backpacks, which we then washed, sanitized, and waterproofed before donating to Hidden Valley Elementary.
2023: This year, we focused on expanding our donation events through various schools, organizations, and restaurants. We partnered with Queens Grant High School, Jekyll & Hyde, Hawthorne's, and many more! In October, PacksBack was honored and recognized at the Signature Cares Gala. 2023 was an eventful year that allowed us to supply backpacks to local CMS students with the help of the Charlotte community.
We are looking for new partnerships for 2024!
Our goal is to have corporate participation in promoting PacksBack in 2024, please contact us below if interested.

Bring a gently used or new backpack to one of our donation days. All you have to do is drop the bag in the PacksBack box we will take care of the rest!

If you can't make it to one of our donation days no worries, PacksBack does porch pickups! All you have to do is text 860-462-3087, put the backpack at your front door, and we will come by and pick it up.

We accept donations too!
You can also feel comfortable dropping a donation in boxes at Hawthorn's NY Pizza locations on Rea Rd and Carmel Rd.

We are a nonprofit agency with a 501c3 status, so tax deductions are now an option! With your monetary donations, we can purchase new backpacks to donate to our local schools!
